Összefoglalás: A cönológiai felvételek eredményei alapján megállapítható, hogy a veresegyházi Malom-tavon az úszóláp-szegélyek nádas társulásának (Phragmitetum communis) két típusa a mocsári sásos nádas és a sédkenderes nádas. A nádasszint uralkodó növénye a Phragmites australis, néhány helyen a T. angustifolia alkot kisebb állományokat.
A Malom-tó K-i oldalán a nagymértékű eutrofizáció következtében a Nagy-úszóláp peremének fajszegénysége megközelíti a belső területekét, helyenként a nádpusztulás jelei is láthatók.

BOTANICAL RESEARCHES IN THE FLOATING MIRES OF MALOM POND, VERESEGYHÁZ
S. Tatár

Keywords: Floating mire, Coenological analyses, Eutrofication, Simon’s Nature Conversation Ranks

As the relevés show in the edge of floating mires the dominant plant of the reed layer is Phragmites australis (Phragmitetum communis), and in some places Typha  angustifolia. The most frequent members of flora are Calystegia sepium (in the liane layer), Carex acutiformis, Eupatorium cannabinum, Peucedanum palustre and Lycopus europeus in the herb layer. Considerable botanical values are represented by the protected species of the edges like Cicuta virosa (very frequent), Carex appropinquata and Urtica kioviensis. Among the new species there are several plants – like Urtica dioica and Sambucus nigra – which indicate the eutrofication of the environment  (the main sources of pollutants are the cesspits). The extensive eutrofication caused the numbers of algae and the destruction of reeds to increase on the eastern side of the largest floating mire. In this area only a few herbs are found beside Phragmites australis.
Inside the floating mires the vegetation (Phragmitetum communis) is very poor: the reed is dominant, only a few herbs are found there (Carex acutiformis, Urtica kioviensis and Lemna minor in the puddles of the surface, etc.). Those floating mires that are smaller than 1m2 serve as a refuges for the herb layer. In most of small mires no reeds can be found, so they receive more sunshine than the bigger floating mires. The characteristic species of the plant community are Carex acutiformis, Lycopus europeus, Bidens tripartita, Carex pseudocyperus and  Mentha aquatica.
From a nature conservation view-point the number of species decreased considerably over the last eight decades (- 21.3 %), but the distribution of  Simon’s Conservation Ranks has not changed significantly since the first investigation (Boros 1927). The flora contains protected species of plants in high percentage in spite of the fact that many protected plants have died out during the XX. century. The main reasons for the disappearance of the species are the destruction of habitats, eutrofication and the expansion of reed (by eutrofication).
